MERRY CHRISTMOTH

It's been a productive year at Moth Woman Press, and 2015 is promising more of the same.

Back in May, MWP showed our artist books and zines at Clunes Booktown’s inaugural Biblio-Artist Books, which was curated by Nicholas Jones.

As a direct result of Clunes Booktown, we were invited to exhibit a selection of our one-of-a-kind Tall Tales artist books and the limited edition artist book Women With Wings in PAGE.PRINT.POST. 50 Years of Artist Books at Post Office Gallery, Federation University, Ballarat. Curated by Debbie Hill and Geoff Willis, the show ran from July 19 - 9 August.

Later in 2014 our unbound artist book Homo-insecta was a finalist in both the Silk Cut Award for Linocut Printmaking and more recently the Fremantle Arts Centre Print Award. Although the latter show concluded in October, the book has remained in Western Australia. David Forrest, Co-Director of Gallery East Art Services, has invited me to exhibit Homo-insecta in Between the Sheets: Artists’ Books 2015 at Central Gallery, Aberdeen Street, Perth from 7 March – 2 April 2015, and kindly offered to collect the work from the Fremantle Arts Centre after the print exhibition concluded.

Meanwhile, a set of the five zines I made for Homo-insecta, my recent solo show at the Art Vault in Mildura has been reserved by the State Library of Victoria. (To see the zines, scroll down to Blog Posts November 13 - 21).

Our major project for next year will be the completion of the limited edition book The Moth Woman Vigilantes. Although they have featured in several zines, this will be the first artist book to be devoted to the infamous MWV.

We at Moth Woman Press wish you all the warmest Compliments of the Season, and look forward to your visits in 2015.
